Customers may “report that when they turn on or unlock their phone, they briefly see horizontal lines flash across the screen,” according to a corporate memo obtained by MacRumors and confirmed by me.

The memo states that Apple “is aware of the issue and a software update is due soon that will remedy the issue,” therefore ruling out any hardware flaw that may have caused a recall.

“Coming soon” when? It would seem that iOS 16.3, which is presently in beta testing, would be the logical solution, but that seems unlikely. Apple generally releases four to six betas as well as a “Release Candidate” before launch, but this significant update has just entered its second public beta. Therefore, I wouldn’t anticipate iOS 16.3 to be released until the end of February.

iPhone 14 Pro Max:

Apple is resolving flaws from the problematic iOS 16 launch in a series of “minor point” patches, despite the fact that iOS 16.2 was generally reliable. Apple seldom makes minor point updates available for public beta testing, so a dedicated patch might be released as soon as the company is prepared.

According to a recent post from MacRumors, iOS 16 users are reporting a “plethora of issues,” some of which are unique to the iPhone 14 series. These include slow keyboard response, frozen cameras, strange user interface flaws, and more. The report includes links to several complaints from Reddit, forums, and social media.

MacRumors also highlights three remarks made by well-known tech YouTubers, whose tweets about iOS 16.2, the most recent version of iOS 16, and the iPhone 14 models gained a lot of traction over the past 48 hours. Aaron Zollo of Zollotech tweeted, “More and more people keep reporting me all the concerns with iOS 16.2.” I hope a significant bug is fixed soon. Each day, we hear this more and more.
